We're Headed to Houston with Our 90-Day Challenge Winner

P.volve is all over the map this summer, but we’re not stopping just yet!

Come next week, we’ll be touching down in Houston, Texas for the first time ever. On August 7th, our Master Trainer Celestine will lead an exclusive P.sculpt class. If you don’t know Celestine just yet, come early or stay a few minutes late to chat with her. (Or you can read more about her in our Studio Spotlight here.)

You’ll be able to join not one but two signature sculpting classes on the 7th. At 5:45PM, Houston-based blogger Veronika’s Blushing will co-host the class alongside Celestine. Veronika is a longtime P.volve fan who’s credited our program for helping her stay in shape even as a busy mom. But before Veronika shows us her moves, we’ll be joined by another special guest at our 9:30AM class. The winner of our 90-Day Challenge, Clara, will co-host the class with Celestine to show us her progress in the program. Clara has been with P.volve for over a year, and her transformation has been far from just about total-body toning. Below, she tells us about her experience with the workouts that exceeded her expectations and brought even more emotional changes than physical ones.

How, if at all, does P.volve help with your mind-body connection?
P.volve came into my life during a time where I was suffering from excruciating pain on my left and right feet. Believe it or not, I injured both feet in exactly the same way at exactly the same time. I was forced to stop all exercise because even walking became difficult. Exercise was such an important part of my mental health and clarity that when I could no longer be active, I hit rock bottom and fell into a deep depression. I could no longer run, jump, or engage in any type of intense workout pre and post surgery. It came into the picture at the right time, surprisingly on my Instagram feed. Before then I had never heard of anything like it. Ever since that day that I clicked subscribe, P.volve has helped me retransform myself, my body and most importantly my mind.

I always believed that high intensity exercises were the only efficient method in developing a fit and lean body. P.volve opened my mind and flipped my world 180 degrees, showing me how essential and life changing low impact targeted exercises truly are. It allowed me to get out of my comfort zone by defying my idea of what it truly means to be healthy and fit. Exercise has always been an escape for me, a moment for myself, my therapy. By incorporating P.Volve in my fitness regime, I’ve been continuously challenged to push myself and learn to appreciate slowing down my body and my mind and focusing on controlling my movements and thoughts. P.volve has become just as important—not only physically but mentally, as high intensity cardio, eating, drinking and sleeping.

What changes did you see throughout and after the 90-day challenge?
The biggest and most unexpected change that I noticed was in my flexibility. I did ballet during my childhood years and during my late teens I incorporated yoga in my weekly exercise routines. Both are key in improving flexibility, but none of them transformed my body the way that P.volve did. The slow and concise movements, the continuous focus on engaging the core through every in and out step, concentrating on all areas of the body that I had never even considered.

90 days is a long time! How did you find the motivation to stick to your schedule the whole time?
I’ve always been a very driven person. Whenever I set my mind to doing something, I go all in and give my 110%. To be honest, I struggled with allowing myself to take breaks and a few days off during the 90 days. To me it was not only a challenge physically, but also mentally. And through the days, P.volve became much more than just 30-60 minutes of exercise; it became therapeutic. I looked forward to the exercises, and almost always chose to do the longer classes.

How has P.volve helped you continue on your journey to total-body acceptance?
My journey to total-body acceptance has been a long and painful one. As a matter of fact, on September of this year I will be celebrating my 10 years of recovery from Anorexia Nervosa. I was diagnosed in my mid-late teens and moved to San Diego to get treatment. The days, weeks, months and years following that chapter were long and painful. I hated every inch of my body and there was nothing anyone or I could do to change those negative self destructive thoughts haunting my days. With time, therapy and great care, exercise was slowly reintroduced into my life. Forward 10 years and I can say that the journey overall has been an uphill battle, reinvigorating from the inside out. It’s not easy, some days are harder than others. But slip ups, scrapes and bruises are all part of the journey that only makes me stronger as the years go by.

My idea of mental and physical health changes continuously as I learn day in and day out to accept, nurture and love my body as it is. Balance, equilibrium and clarity are my true mottos that drive and motivate me to search for that peace of mind in everything that I do. I even like to use my name as a daily reminder to find m’Claraty. I am grateful for my journey to total body acceptance and welcome any positive route that comes my way.

What are you most excited about to finally try a class in-person?

I can’t wait to receive all the feedback from the amazing P.volve family in order to perfect my routine. I’m also eager to share my journey and hear about the team’s journey so that I can continue to transform from the inside out. Everything that I strive to do in life is to create a positive impact. And health and fitness is just one of the many ways that I try to make a difference.

What’s been your favorite piece of equipment?
Oh boy—that’s a toughie! I’d have to say the p.ball. That baby is magical and changed my booty! Gliders are also a definite go to for me. Love to feel the burn and every inch of my body sculpting and defining.
