Making It Work: Veronika's Blushing on Fitting P.volve Into Her Busy Mom Lifestyle

By sheer definition, moms are superheroes. They keep us safe, feed us, and love us unconditionally—all while managing to stay afloat with the rest of life’s unexpected twists and turns. For Mother’s Day, we’re bowing down to the powerhouse ladies who get it all done—family, careers, and more—while also squeezing P.volve workouts into their routine.

To kick off the series, we chatted with Houston-based blogger and a longtime P.volve devotee, Veronika Javor. When she’s not offering her lifestyle or beauty expertise, she’s helping her family run like a well-oiled machine. And somehow, someway she still finds time to get in her workouts, too. Read on about how Veronika gets it all done: the job, the family, and the P.volve burn.

Where are you from?

I live in Houston, Texas, but grew up in Toronto.

How did you learn about P.volve?

I found P.volve though the Skinny Confidential Podcast. Stephen Pasterino’s interview about his method really resonated with me and the goals I wanted to achieve for my body. I always had this belief that you had to do bootcamp-style workouts to really get results, but I always enjoyed and felt better when I did lower-impact workouts. Once I tried P.volve, I was hooked!

Tell us about your kids.

I have a five-year-old daughter and a three-year-old son—they are my world and keep me on my toes!

What does being a mother mean to you?

Overall, I think being a mother means carrying a tremendous, critically-important and never-ending responsibility and blessing; you’re forming and shaping your children into the people they will become and that is both incredible and a privilege (and sometimes scary!) Being a mother also means keeping the coffee bean industry in business!

Any surprises with motherhood?

How in awe I’d be of my children. I know everyone loves seeing their children learn new things and meet milestones, but I’m often taken aback at how incredible it all is – to witness something “click” with your child or to watch them make a piece of art that you just couldn’t even fathom they’d be able to create with such small hands. It’s just this feeling of being awestruck.

How do you make time for yourself when you’re so busy?

I’m an only child, so I crave alone time—which is hard with a family, two jobs, and other responsibilities. I’m a multitasker by nature, so I’ll put a face mask on while I clean the kitchen or work on my blog and I’ll take my daughter with me to the nail salon to get pedicures together. It’s a way to spend time together and pamper myself a bit! I’m also addicted to podcasts and audiobooks and listen while I drive to and from work. It’s a great way to learn, decompress, and feel inspired.

What about P.volve is appealing to you?

I like that P.volve is focused on results without strain, inflammation, and being hard on the joints. I love that the movements are so focused and specific—it helps create that mind-body connection for me.

How does P.volve make you feel physically?

Strong, confident and connected. I always feel more connected to my body when I’m doing P.volve consistently. Even when doing simple things like walking or bending down to pick something up, I’m thinking of how my body moves and responds to those movements.

How does P.volve make you feel emotionally?

Motivated and driven. Once you see the results of P.volve when you do it consistently – it’s hard to stop! It’s so nice to spend 20-50 minutes a few times a week to feel more connected to myself and my body.

How is P.volve different from other methods?

I could write an entire post just about this! P.volve is like nothing I’ve ever tried – even when I try to compare it to other lower impact workouts like barre and pilates – there is nothing quite like it! P.volve doesn’t make you sweat buckets or feel like you’re going to pass out – but you will feel the burn when you do the movements with correct form. You will feel your body lengthen and become stronger and leaner.

What’s your favorite part of being a mom?

I love watching my children learn new things and be creative – their little imaginations just fascinate me! My daughter can read to me now and I’m just in awe and my son is so creative with his play – he can build the most incredible towers and buildings with his toys. I love experiencing new things together as a family – like going on a rollercoaster for the first time or the first time my children’s toes felt the sand on the beach. Those moments are forever etched into my memory.

How do you manage to stay healthy when you’re on the go?

The only way for me to be successful is to plan it all out – meal prep and have a fridge/pantry stocked with healthy options. I also practice intermittent fasting which has been a game-changer.

What does wellness mean to you as a mom?

Wellness as a mom is about so much more than working out or eating right—it’s about mental health. I truly believe in the “put your oxygen mask on first” school of thought—you can’t be your best self with anyone, including your kids, if you don’t carve out some time for your own needs too.

How do you fit fitness into your daily life?

I used to wake up at 5 a.m. to go to a boot camp style weight lifting gym and then I’d eat junk food all day long – I was inflamed, exhausted and seeing zero results. I think a lot of people don’t realize how critical the sleep component of our wellness matters and how much it affects our overall health. I realized that I wasn’t getting enough sleep, so I stopped working out at a gym and decided to convert my home office into a workout room and it’s truly the best decision I’ve made! It’s not easy to fit workouts in – I have two children, a husband, am a homeowner, work full-time and also run a blog part-time – but I have to make time for fitness because it makes me feel so much better, and that feeling is worth it. When I get home from work, I immediately change into my workout clothes so that by the time we do bath time, reading and snuggles with the kids, I can head straight to my workout room and fire-up my laptop to stream.

Stay tuned for more odes to mom this week in honor of Mother’s Day!
