How to Make Your At-Home Workouts Work For You
The beauty of P.volve is that it can be done anywhere, and that includes the comfort of your own home.
All at-home workouts offer the luxury of convenience, and ours even more so. Trying to lift your glutes before the day starts? There’s a video for that. Want to squeeze in a 15-minute core burn? We got you there, too.
With the right tools (or none at all!) and access to our streaming platform of 200+ workout videos, it’s all possible. Now, you just have to put both together for the best at-home workout setup you can imagine.
Find your favorite space.
Low-impact home workouts are ideal for two reasons: first, they require very little space to move in, and second, they don’t require any jumping, pounding or dropping weights that would make your neighbors hate you.
So when you’re picking the best spot in your house to stream from, make sure it’s an area you love being in—like your living room where there’s really great sunlight or your bedroom where your dog will pop by in between p.sits to say hello.
Stay clean.
Keep the space you work out in as clean and clutter-free as possible. After all, you wouldn’t find stacks of magazine and your kids’ toys on the floor at the studio, so treat your home workouts the same.
And speaking of clean, it’s always important to wipe down home gym equipment after every use, even if you’re the only one using it. All of our non-fabric equipment can be washed with a damp cloth and soapy water, and equipment with fabric like our ankle weights can be wiped down with antibacterial wipes and left out to dry.
Treat every workout like a mini vacation.
It’s important to make your home workout setup feel as real as a studio experience. For you, maybe that means turning the world off by putting headphones in. Or maybe you need to light some candles and put background music on. Others might even want to put fresh flowers next to their streaming device to help liven the room up. Whatever it is, make it feel like a workout for both your body and your mind.
Be comfortable (but maybe not too comfortable.)
While there’s definitely no P.volve dress code, our movements are best done in workout clothes. We also know that workouts from home sometimes translate to workouts in pajamas. Whatever you choose, make sure you feel comfortable and productive enough to get through your workouts strong and without distraction.
Don’t sweat the small stuff.
Workout programs for women at home are often missing that really good burn you can get in class. Our streaming workouts, however, are just as high intensity as everything else, so long as you prioritize form to maximize your results.
Missing a piece of equipment? No worries—there are ‘lots of ways to improvise. Use towels in place of gliders, cans of food in place of hand weights or simply filter your workouts for no equipment options.
We always love hearing from you, so show us how you're streaming from home by tagging us on Instagram, or connect with other streamers in our Facebook Streamers Group.
